Copperus Cove — Hosted by the Copperus Cove Economic Development Corporation, the quarterly pop-up market and job fair on Saturday attracted more vendors than the inaugural event in June, and the Hundreds of people from the community came and went at the Cove Civic Center.
Sina Tanner, Marketing Director, Copperas Cove EDC, said: “Our real goal is to give local small businesses the visibility and operational space they otherwise wouldn’t have.”
A total of 45 vendors have set up to sell their wares, Tanner said, combined with the dozens in the job fair segment, has pushed the market beyond the original leisure furniture parking lot.
Lorene Rosebery, owner of RBF Southern Candle Company, thanked the change of venue and said she was encouraged to attend the market by former EDC assistant director Diane Drassell before she left for Victoria.
“She encouraged me to do this, and we decided to go ahead and do it,” Rosebery said. “And of course the weather and everything is a little hot for candles, so this was indoors, so it was the perfect time for us.”
