Paolo Ardoino, chief technology officer of stablecoin issuer Tether (USDT), was recently spotted online referring to rumors about images of large industrial containers. Such speculation has led him to decline questions about where Tether is mining Bitcoin (BTC).
Posted on August 26th published On X (formerly Twitter), Ardoino shed light on the curiosity sparked by a photo he shared on August 24th. The image showed a container with the Tether Energy logo photoshopped into it, and it got a lot of people wondering what it was.

He revealed that the photo shows the control room of a bitcoin mining site that Tether is currently completing and will begin operating soon.
But Aldoino made it clear that he would not disclose the location, responding to numerous users who inquired about the location.
He said the location was somewhere on the South American continent, but gave no further details for security reasons.
“Where? In Latin America. We tend not to share our exact location information to avoid personnel harassment, but given the amount of detractors attached to Tether, it’s a legitimate concern,” he declared, Acknowledging that many Tether skeptics have questioned the legitimacy of Tether.
“Some of them could be heard shouting, ‘If you can’t give me the address, zip code, and last name of the cows that are grazing in my neighborhood, it’s not real!!!!!'” ”
He said it was a deliberate media decision, referring to skeptics who were interested in seeing the photoshopped logo on the container.
“We thought this photo would be shared in newspapers, so the team wanted to brand it,” Ardoino said. But from a security perspective, he doesn’t think displaying the logo at the mining site is a wise approach.
“Additionally, placing a giant Tether logo is not desirable from a site’s physical privacy standpoint.”
He expects operations to begin in September.
“The site is going well. Everyone on the team is very excited and we are working around the clock to get it up and running in the next few weeks,” he declared.

This comes after news that Tether is developing mining software aimed at increasing transparency in the Bitcoin mining industry.
In an Aug. 17 interview with Cointelegraph, Aldoino said that Tether “ Moriaprovides a more comprehensive data analysis on energy production at bitcoin mining sites.
Ardoino emphasized the need for better analysis and performance reviews in Bitcoin mining. He credits Moria with helping evaluate site performance and the surrounding environment.
“If the energy used at the mining site is wind or solar, there are optimization parameters, such as the predicted wind speed for a given day or time of day, which we use to overclock some miners to increase production. can. “
