MILLSBOROUGH, Del. – Giving season is here and Chick-Fil-A locations across Delmarva are wasting no time in doing their part.
Chick-fil-A in Cambridge, Ocean City, Salisbury, Seaford, Rehoboth Beach and Millsboro are partnering to participate in the Gather to Give campaign. These branches will donate 100 percent of Nugget Tray sales to RIP Medical Debt to help alleviate medical debt for families this holiday season.
Tim Sweetman, owner of Chick-fil-A Millsboro, told 47 ABC News that his partner companies are ready to give special gifts to those who need it most this holiday season.
“They’re going to go find people who are 400 percent below the poverty line, or people whose debt accounts for 5 percent of their income,” Sweetman explained. “Around Christmas, people in our community will receive a letter from our friends at Chick-fil-A Delmarva saying your debt has been forgiven.”
Chick-fil-A Delmarva’s goal is to raise up to $10,000 to help these families this holiday season.
The campaign will run from November 27th to December 2nd at select locations, with all proceeds raised going to families in need of medical debt relief.
Nearly 7 in 10 U.S. adults say they receive medical bills they can’t afford, according to a study featured by RIP Medical Debt, a company Chick-fil-A Delmarva partnered with for the campaign. Those who wish to support this effort can also make a direct donation. Website.
