“Despite the court ruling, the government, especially the Ministry of Finance, has decided to add the amount deemed to be insufficient so that it does not fall below the (pension) salary that they should receive,” he said.

He made the remarks at the Executive Diplomatic Alumni Association (PTD) and Yayasan Alumni Association PTD dinners held at the World Trade Center here on Wednesday (December 13) evening.
On June 27, the Federal Court upheld the Court of Appeal’s decision to declare the Pension Adjustment (Amendment) Act 2013 (Act A1447) invalid, stating that the amendments no longer apply to government retirees.
However, in July, the government decided to pay the July pension and derived pension to civil servants who retired before and after 2013 at their original pension amount.
As a result, the pension payments for civil servants who retired before 2013 were returned to the amount in December 2012, and the pension payments for civil servants who retired after 2013 were returned to the amount at the time of retirement.

Mr. Anwar said that the difference between the current pension amount and the original pension amount will continue in the form of special assistance known as Special Award for Retired Persons (PKKP) to ensure that the amount pensioners receive is the same as the original amount. Earlier, in a speech at a dinner party, Alumni Association PTD Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali expressed concern that next year’s pension amount would be reduced following the Federal Court’s decision. did.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anwar touched on the investigation into the Public Service Payroll Scheme (SSPA), adding that the government is committed to thoroughly investigating the matter, but this will take time.
“In terms of salary adjustments, this issue will definitely be looked at and studied. I don’t think the SSPA has been reviewed in 11 years. This is not about having the support of civil servants, but this is the reality.”
“It should be reviewed every 10 years, but due to the constant politics, we have not had the opportunity to think about civil servant issues.However, now there is a committee to review the salary and allowance system for civil servants. ShaAllah, this will be resolved,” he said.
At the event, the Prime Minister also approved the allocation of RM500,000 to the Alumni Association PTD to continue the association’s activities in supporting the strengthening of public administration and services. – Bernama
