The Nigeria Waste Managers Association has lamented the delay in paying Visionscape’s debts to its members.
The association’s president, Orgvenga Adeborah, appealed to Lagos state governor Babajide Sanworu to initiate an investigation into the plight of waste managers in the state and their arrears.
“The delay in payment of Visionscape’s debts to members who cooperated with Visionscape under the direction of the government at the time is alarming. I will seriously consider the payment and appeal to expedite the payment.
“Governments should ensure that member businesses are protected through enforceable agreements with governments with appropriate stamp duty and related securities. We will raise the level of investment,” he asserted.
He further called for a review of all remittances to state governments to ensure the viability of member states in the face of the impact of regional and global inflation on businesses in Nigeria.
Adebola added that revising remittances to state governments would bring salvation to AWAMN members.
