My foray into the world of credit cards, points and miles began when I joined TPG about a year and a half ago. I had several cards before working here, but didn’t give much thought to which cards to use and when and how to maximize their benefits.

Having a quiet space to work or rest between flights can be very helpful during long layovers. Alternatively, as a responsible adult, if I get to the airport early, I can buy snacks and drinks before my flight without paying high airport fees.

After earning the bonus, I redeemed some of those miles to book positioning flights for my husband and my first big redemption trip to Germany and Belgium last fall. I also used some of my points to take my family on a work trip to Disneyland earlier this year. If everyone gets on the plane together, the cost of the plane can add up quickly. Flexible redemption
I also like the way Delta presents award prices. In the example above, you entered dates from November 9th to November 12th for a round trip ticket between your home airport and Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Delta not only shows the price for your date, but also the price for another combination of dates. You can get even better redemption amounts if your dates are flexible. With some airlines, finding the best perks can be very difficult, so I appreciate the ease with Delta.
Annual Companion Certificate

The Companion Certificate is valid for one round-trip ticket anywhere in the 48 continental United States (unless you live in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands).
When you purchase a roundtrip ticket in First Class, Delta Comfort+, or Main Cabin, you can bring a companion for free with proof. Taxes and fees are payable only on his second ticket.
I just got my first companion certificate and I’m already dreaming about how to use it.
Conclusion
to choose Delta SkyMiles Reserve For those new to points and miles, it was a no-brainer. Not the most profitable, but the earning structure is simple. Earn 3 points per dollar spent on Delta purchases and 1 point per dollar spent on all other qualifying purchases. I, like some of my colleagues, still don’t remember the earnings structure of all the major credit cards, so I appreciate how easy this is.
But that’s not the real reason I love this card. As a frequent Delta customer, benefits like lounge access, complimentary checked bags and annual companion certificates are unmatched.
