AEW said Sting will address the fans at the October 18th match. dynamite. Fans online spent much of the day leading up to the show speculating what the icon would say and celebrating his legendary career ahead of time.

… Stinger asked if he should say something into the microphone, making it seem like speculation about a retirement announcement was prescient. He reminisced about the beginning of his career and the people he started working with and admired, including Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair.
He first mentioned retiring when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016, but it never really clicked with him. And yet he included the line, “The only thing that’s certain about Sting is that nothing is certain.”
However, he says this is here to stay.He started in AEW revolution 2021. His last matches are: revolution In 2024, that’s for sure.
No other details were disclosed. We don’t even know the official dates for next year’s AEW annual late winter/early spring PPV. It’s logical to assume that Darby Allyn will be involved somehow, but how? teammate? Opponent?
Expect and prepare for the next four months or so as we say goodbye to one of the greatest players of all time.
