ROCKFORD, IL — Rockford’s Midtown Market held its final market of the season today.
“I feel accomplished and blessed this year. This is my first year doing this job and it was tough, but we did it,” said Marika Miller, market manager. “This year couldn’t have been better and I’m so grateful.”
The market began in June and was held in the 4th Street parking lot of the Rockford Public School District headquarters. The market attracted a variety of vendors, from farmers to musicians to food trucks.
“I’m happy because I achieved my quota last year, and I also had a food truck. No one else had a food truck, so I feel like I accomplished something more. I can’t wait for next year because the vendors are coming.”We are now looking towards next year. ” says Miller.
Miller is already considering how things can be improved for next year’s Midtown Market season, saying, “We’re already gathering vendors for next year. We are planning to increase the number of activities for the students.” says Miller.
The outdoor Midtown Market may be over, but it looks like the market will continue indoors throughout the fall and winter. The market is held at Katy’s Cup on the first Saturday of each month from November 2nd to March 2nd.
