MetaMask, one of the most popular cryptocurrency wallet applications, was removed from Apple’s App Store in the US on Saturday, but restored within a few hours.
A MetaMask spokesperson said the app was removed due to “an internal operational error on our part.” Decryptionthis is not an action taken by Apple.

A comment from an account that appeared to belong to a MetaMask representative was quickly replied to, confirming that the team was aware of the issue.

By noon Saturday, the app was back up.
Other cryptocurrency wallet apps such as Coinbase, Uniswap, and Binance remain available on the App Store.
In December 2022, MetaMask co-founder and co-lead developer Dan Finlay publicly criticized Apple’s App Store policies when it removed the Coinbase app. “I’m ready to leave the Apple ecosystem,” he wrote.
In 2019, MetaMask was removed from the Google Play app store, but it was reinstated a week later.
