Cryptocurrency litigation filed
Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannurias, in coordination with other state regulators, has taken legal action against a digital currency exchange company for violating securities laws.
The Illinois Department of State Securities has accused Coinbase Global of violating securities laws related to its staking offering. Officials said Coinbase offered staking products to Illinois residents without registering the securities.
Shipping agency for air purifiers
The Illinois Department of Public Health has 1,000 vehicles in Illinois Head Start and Early Head Start programs across the state to reduce transmission of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. announced that it will offer more air purifiers.
In the coming weeks, IDPH will begin shipping air purifiers to 45 different Head Start programs across the state. Last month, the CDC released new guidelines calling for at least five air changes per hour. This is equivalent to changing all the air in the room at least 5 times within an hour.
Wildfire fog continues
Much of Illinois will again see the effects of the Canadian wildfires on Tuesday. You can see the haze and some people can smell the smoke.
A weak cold front is expected to pass through the state this week, clearing some of the smoke from the fires. Canada has already burned nearly 7 million acres this year and is experiencing one of the worst starts to the wildfire season.
