CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress treasurer and former MLA Amit Vij on Sunday expressed concern over the state’s financial situation and asked the state government to focus on revenue generation instead of increasing debt.
Vij said in a statement that AAP had promised to get additional revenue before the elections. INRDespite extracting 520 billion yen each year from savings from mining and contracts, the government has imposed huge debts. INR50,000 million yen to state residents.
He said that at this rate, his debt would reach the following amount: INR66,000 billion by the end of the year. “This increases interest payments on loans and reduces the ability to invest in capital projects and central government-backed schemes. You can only benefit from these schemes if you contribute 50% of the amount. “You can,” he added.
The Congress leader said the government should strive to meet revenue targets through capital investment and opening up industries. “As a responsible opposition party, we are ready to extend our 100% support in the interest of the nation,” he said. Vij also described the conflict between the chief minister and the governor as “unfortunate”.
