PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Republican Panama City Rep. Neil Dunn shared his thoughts on a variety of topics in an interview with News 13 this week.
Dunn and his fellow Republicans are trying to pass the budget and bring President Joe Biden to the negotiating table.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned Congress that the United States could default by June 1 if it does not raise or suspend the nation’s borrowing limits. Her legal borrowing limit is $31.4 trillion. The Treasury Department said she plans to borrow $726 billion during the quarter.
“It is irresponsible to spend more money than we have. OK, we can agree on that. And it’s a real mistake,” Dunn said. It means reviewing where you spend your money and starting to cut really honestly.”
Dunn says one place he doesn’t cut is the US military. Congressmen say the country must always defend itself and could be on the brink of a multi-pronged conflict. bottom.
Dan said he also supports arming and assisting Ukrainian forces in fighting the invaders.
“The problem with ignoring Ukraine is that we will be fighting the same war in Poland,” Dunn said. “And we know this to be true. This is the second coming of 1939.”
Dunn added that Americans who oppose the government’s role in the conflict in Ukraine tend to come from either the far right or the far left.
