Boulder, Colorado — Boulder County Office of Disaster Management (ODM) confirmed that the X account, formerly known as Twitter, was hacked before a post promoting the cryptocurrency account was shared on Saturday.
The first post promoting the cryptocurrency account was made around 7:49 a.m., and dozens of identical posts have since been shared from the account.
Mike Chard, director of Boulder County ODM, said he doesn’t know who the hacker is and his priority is to deactivate the account.
A new account will be created, but in the meantime, Chard said: The best way to access information about potential emergencies is through our website.
