The developers of the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol have rolled out a new upgrade aimed at repairing over 71,000 invalid or “cursed” inscriptions and making them tradeable.
“Cursed Inscription” is the name given to an inscription created through misuse or deliberate misuse of the opcode to create the inscription, resulting in the inscription becoming invalid and unrecognizable .
On June 4, developers, including Twitter user Raphjaph, revealed that the Ordinals protocol had been upgraded to version 0.6.0. This is the first step in indexing previously unrecognized inscriptions.
of suggestion To fix this issue, Ordinals creator Casey Rodarmor was the first to recognize these cursed inscriptions and convert them to “blessed” inscriptions in late April.
This upgrade introduced support for a subset of cursed inscriptions of various types. This is done by setting a block activation height at which certain types of previously invalid inscriptions start indexing as regular positive inscriptions.
Ordinals influencer LeonidasNFT explained that these will be added to the list of tradable indexed Ordinals, stating:
“This is important. Over 70,000 existing invalid inscriptions are now supported. This means that once the marketplace is upgraded to v0.6.0, you will be able to start trading those inscriptions.” increase.”
He added that anyone with cursed inscriptions “should expect negative inscription numbers to move.”
A Bitcoin ordinal is an irreplaceable asset artifact that allows data to be written to the smallest subdivision of Bitcoin, the Satoshi.
The protocol was launched by Casey Rodarmor in January, and the following month saw thousands of protocols stamped onto the Bitcoin blockchain, causing congestion and skyrocketing transaction fees, and the inscription hype began.
Ordinal inscriptions are believed to be similar to NFTs in terms of rarity and collectibility. These early or transformed Satoshi inscriptions will be of value in later times, as users want unique slices of data permanently inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain. There is a possibility.
